guerrilla
boulder mall crawl, our first over nite stay!
the guerrilla
gazette, denver, colorado, may 4, 2003 |
|

|
|
| what's
this 3 maRgarrRitaa limit thingy about?!? |
 |
| on
may 3, 2003, billy and his loyal clan of guerrilla
boys and girls invaded the peoples republic of
boulder. we attracted over 300 people, our first
out of town attempt! billy made his journey to
boulder by way of our lovely rtd bus system. billy
and his gang jumped aboard the boulder express
bus which droped the crew conveniently in downtown
boulder. first stop on billy's guerrilla mall
crawl was juanita’s mexican restaurant for some
munchies and a much needed margarita or two! the
place was packed with many familiar guerrilla
boys and girls’ faces along with guerrilla bar
newbies on hand too! you know how billy likes
his fresh chicken! billy was in chicken heaven!
there was chicken on the menu, chicken enjoying
margaritas in the bar, chicken playing pool, chicken
everywhere! with the crowd growing, eating way
to many tacos, and a some of the best chicken
and margaritas billy’s had in a long time, it
was time to hit the streets! |

|
| the
odobenus rosmarus saloon, laymen’s terms: the
walrus saloon |
 |
| stop
two was the walrus saloon. hearing that most of
the local frat boys think of the walrus as second
home billy was first in line for a beer. the walrus
kind of reminded billy of the bar on cheers solely
because of it’s location which is just below street
level all you see when you look out the windows
are the shoes of people walking by. billy knew
the bar was going to be in for a shocker as he
watched and the shoes started changing from flip
flops to kenneth cole and prada. within 20 minutes
the bar was packed. locals were to worried about
their own issues like cellular phone pollution
and the latest hemp fashions to really care. the
staff was wonderful and kept everyone’s drinks
full. with a few new recruits under his belt and
the urge to get his groove on billy decided it
was time for a dance floor |
|
|
|
|
| hey
this was my party first! |
 |
| as
billy exited the walrus on his way to the last
stop on the guerrilla mall crawl all you could
hear was the sudden crunching of peanut shells
as the massive crowd created a human chain, like
the kind you made in first grade so you wouldn’t
lose each other, and headed for the door! our
miniature pride parade made the journey a block
and a half to round midnight. no, we didn’t get
there around midnight, silly guerrilla, that the
name of the bar! what is it with the bars in boulder?
all of the are located in the basements of office
buildings! the bar was very busy and filled with
an eclectic mix of people. uit seems that one
bartender in particular caught the eye of most
of the guerrilla bar boys and while most of them
would have liked to have kept him busy with something
other then a drink order they didn’t seem to mind
the wait! the dance floor was virtually empty
until a couple of our favorite guerrilla bar boys
took to the floor like solid gold dancers. it
didn’t take long for the gay gene in most of the
crowd to kick in and the floor was packed. |

|
|
| hey
where ya going? |
 |
| billy
wants to extend a special thanks to everyone
who came to our first guerrilla mall crawl,
and hopes everyone had a fabulously fun time.
we had a great turn out and we've got some suprises
in store for you. billy one-year anniversary
is here and we promise, you haven’t seen nothin’
yet! |
