billy, what the holiday #%*@! is santarchy?

oh sweetie, for the past ten years, at more and more cities across the country, hundreds of people dress up in santa suits, meet up, and spend a day wandering the streets and invading bars. the santas get drunk, hand out toys and gifts, and occasionally cause mayhem. they call this event santarchy! sanatarchy has grown from a san francisco event to a worldwide sensation. santarchy invades the streets of denver on saturday!

billy, what are my santarchy options?

here's the scoop precious. the local organizer of santarchy is the the denver cacophony society. billy has invaded numerous bars, clubs, restaurants and even a corn maze over the past years. but billy never has invaded someone else's invasion event, until now. the denver cacophony society has set up a full day's schedule for santarchy that offers two options. this is episode I and II. episode I starts at the breckenridge brewery at 12 noon for happy hour. episode II begins at the other side arts gallery also at 12 noon and then travels to cherry creek to upset the snooty shoppers and salon goers. at 3 o'clock, the two will combine at falling rock brewery on blake street and continue the chaos from there. you can catch one of the denver cacophony society's sleigh buses at either starting point. their full santarchy schedule, timeline and details are here.

billy knows that noon is really early for some his friends, so he set up episode III. episode III will start at forest room 5 at 2532 15th street at 7:30pm. forest room 5 is a trendy little funky bar in the highlands neighborhood just across I-25 from downtown. show up on time and listen for the megaphone because episode III will be going mobile. at the appropriate time, the horn will sound and everyone will head up the street to meet the other santas and their sleigh buses and simultaneously invade the aztec sol tequila bar at 2219 west 32nd avenue between zuni and tejon. this is sure to be on santa's naughty list so let the santarchy begin!

billy, where can i get a santa suit?

well buttercup, if you haven't bought one online yet, there are a few places around town you can pick up a santa. you can also get a santa suit too! billy was told wal-mart had suits for about $28. if you're tar-gay fan, billy spotted them at the bullseye store too! disguise's and the wizard's chest also stock groovy santa wear. if you don't feel like dressing as a santa, there's always miss claus, reindeer or even an elf! all are acceptable. remember, to ride the santa buses with episode I or II, you must dress up in some fashion!

billy, I got my santa suit, where do I catch santarchy?

its simple snickerdoodle! if you decide to join episode I or II, make sure you print out the itinerary from the full schedule listed here. if you ride their sleigh buses, they ask for a $5 donation to help with reindeer food and gas. there are a few all day parking lots available near both starting points for episode I and II.
